PADI Open Water Course in Bohol

Your first globally recognized scuba certification — learn in Bohol's warm, clear water with sea turtles as your classmates.

The World's Most Popular Scuba Certification

Beginner scuba diving in Panglao starts here: the PADI Open Water Diver course is the entry-level certification that lets you dive independently with a buddy, anywhere in the world, to 18 metres. Taking it through our dive center in Panglao means your four required open water training dives happen on genuinely world-class reef — many students complete their certification dives with sea turtles swimming past at Balicasag.

No prior experience is required — just reasonable swimming ability and general good health. The course costs PHP 19,500, including full equipment rental (the certification/agency fee is separate).

Course Structure

  • Knowledge development — theory completed online (eLearning) or in person
  • Confined water dives — pool or calm shallow water skill practice
  • Four open water training dives — completed at real Bohol dive sites
  • Certification — a lifetime PADI card recognized at dive operators worldwide

Typical Timeline

Most students complete the course in 3–4 days. If you complete the eLearning theory before arriving in Bohol, you can sometimes finish in as little as 2 days of in-water training.

What's Next After Open Water

Once certified, most divers progress to Advanced Open Water to unlock deeper sites like Balicasag's wall and Pamilacan, or straight into fun diving across Bohol's reefs.
