Bohol's Remote Reef Shark Site
Pamilacan Island sits further offshore than Balicasag — roughly 1 to 1.5 hours by boat — and that extra distance is exactly why it feels wilder. Historically a whaling and dolphin-watching village, the waters around Pamilacan today are best known among divers for reliable reef shark and white-tip shark sightings, abundant sea snakes, and the occasional manta ray gliding through during the right season.
It's less visited than Balicasag, which means healthier, quieter reefs and a genuine sense of adventure on the long-boat crossing — part of the experience, not just a means to get there.

Dive Conditions
Currents at Pamilacan are typically stronger and less predictable than Balicasag, so this site is best suited to Advanced Open Water divers, or Open Water divers diving closely with an experienced local guide. Best conditions run November to May, matching the rest of Bohol's dive season. A PHP 250 environmental fee plus a PHP 400/diver boat surcharge (minimum 4 divers) applies due to the longer crossing.
